Melbourne: Residents of the City of Moony Valley, a Melbourne suburb, will use a 3D mapping and modeling project to participate in development application process with their local council. Map overlays will be used to display real time information concerning planned roadwork, council services, activities and events.
The Minister Assisting for the Digital Economy, Senator Kate Lundy has launched the project which is funded through the federal government’s Digital Local Government programme. The initiative will make planning more transparent. Moonee Valley City Council will receive over $340,000 in funding to deliver the online 3D mapping/modelling application, with Council contributing around $131,500.
