Geospatial technologies encapsulate various technologies, tools and systems that acquire, process, analyse, store and maintain spatial data. It includes technologies like Surveying, Remote Sensing, LiDAR, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Over the years the process and handling of geospatial information has undergone a sea change and today it is well integrated with a number of other technologies like Building Information Modelling (BIM), SCADA, SAP etc. to produce cost-time-energy saving applications and solutions.

The various related process with geospatial technologies are :

Geospatial Data – which is the core foundation and starting point
Geospatial Software- The tools required to create, process and manage the data
Geospatial analysis – The process of analyzing the data in the software or system
Geospatial Applications – Which is a verb and also a noun.

When Geospatial Application(s) is used as a verb it means applying geospatial technology.
In case of a noun, it means the customized application developed for a specific purpose.
