Dimensions User Conference 2016 held from 7-9 November at Las Vegas saw some game-changing announcements from Trimble. We were glad to be a silver sponsor and actively engage with the Trimble technology teams to understand the latest developments which we will be soon unfolding through videos.
Of the announcements made at the show, Trimble® Catalyst, a software-defined GNSS receiver for android devices was a significant announcement. This product is a good match for surveying and mapping professionals looking at economic alternatives and using android mobiles for data collection without compromising on accuracies.
Mixed reality was in focus with the Trimble offering SketchUp Viewer for Microsoft HoloLens that aims to improve collaboration in the design and construction process. Trimble, Microsoft, and architect Greg Lynn demonstrated how the SketchUp Viewer solution that aims to improve design and construction processes.
For the agriculture industry, Trimble now has a consolidated offering Trimble Ag Software that consolidate three of its agriculture software products—Connected Farm, Farm Works Software and Agri-Data solutions—into one powerful farm data management platform. This offering aims to make it easy for farmers to use the offerings on mobile devices, seamlessly move data across to derive actionable insights.
Combing the power of a Total Station with a high-end laser scanner, Trimble SX10 Scanning Total Station got great enthusiasm from surveying professionals. The Trimble Business Centre software V 3.80 announcement was also made, which now supports Trimble SX10 along with a host of other third-party surveying equipment through its new scanning module.
The Expo saw a variety of demonstrations on the host of Trimble offerings for industries such as electric utilities, water utilities, construction and technology offerings in the GNSS, GIS, productivity, and collaboration.
